Fresh off the commitment of one of the best prospects for the 2010 recruiting class in Adreian Payne, Tom Izzo worked his magic again. In one of the worst kept secrets in recruiting history Detroit Southeastern’s Brandan Kearney committed to MSU.
Kearney is Coach Izzo’s first recruit for the 2011 class. He is a player whose size and skill set are still developing, who comes with a monster upside. Kearney sited Coach Izzo’s ability to develop players and his post-season success as some of the reasons for his picking MSU.
When Kearney arrives on campus in 2011, he will have been preceded the season before by Payne (mentioned above), along with Fort Wayne, Indiana’s, Russell Byrd, Eaton Rapids, Michigan, forward Alex Gauna, and finally Detroit Pershing guard Keith Appling.
The commitment of Kearney continues Izzo’s stranglehold on top Michigan talent. The commitment also continues to show off the amazing recruiting talents of Coach Tom Izzo.
