Another Spartan to Take a Look at a Position Change this Spring
SpartanNation.com was the first to report that David Rolf got a look at DE. We also were the first to report that Fred Smith was getting looks at TE during bowl practices and could possibly get a longer look this spring although as of yet that isn’t determined. Once again we were the first to report that Ishmyl Johnson was going to get moved to the DT spot from DE.
SpartanNation.com has now learned that DT Antonio Jeremiah will get looked at on the other side of the ball with the OL. Jeremiah can be explosive at times leaving no doubt that he is the best football player on the field, then become absent. The Spartan staff worked very hard this off-season to get him to drop significant weight. That mission was at best less than as successful as they wanted and now he will get reps with the OL.
Jeremiah is one athlete the Spartan football program needs to mature coming into his junior year. There are no questions about his talent; he however will have to demonstrate his drive and commitment.
There will be other position changes that will be brought to light tomorrow as Mark Dantonio holds his spring news conference and elaborates more. Stay tuned to ww.SpartanNation.com as we will have full coverage of the event.
