Team: Maryland Terrapins B1G East

Head Coach: Randy Edsall 4th Year

Last Year’s Record: 7-6

Key Assistant: DC Brian Stewart

Trending: Upward. I don’t like Randy Edsall as a head coach, I love the guy. He is a brilliant X’s and O’s tactician in a school that is NOT a football centric place. He frankly needs a better job by his assistants this year and with improved talent under his leadership that is possible.

Unlike Rutgers that had NO business coming into the B1G, you could at least make a case for the Terps. A strong hoops powerhouse and a solid fan base, if they can change into a consistent bowl eligible team I think they could build a good program, but averaging an attendance in the 40K range is not a way to do it when trying to show off the game day experience for recruits.

Prediction: 6-6 (2-6) 5th place B1G East

James Madison: Win

At USF: Win

West Virginia: Win

At Syracuse: Win

At Indiana: Win

Ohio State: Loss

Iowa: Loss

At Wisconsin: Loss

At Penn State: Loss

Michigan State: Loss

At Michigan: Loss

Rutgers: Win

Final thoughts: Edsall is a B1G worthy coach. I think if he has things moving in the right direction. Six wins in 2014 would be going back from last year’s seven wins, but with a significant jump in competition it would still be an indicator of an upward move.
