Team: Rutgers Scarlet Knights B1G East

Head Coach: Kyle Flood 3rd Year

Last Year’s Record: 6-7 7th place B1G East

Key Assistant: Ralph Friedgen OC

Trending: Down! Rutgers is not an athletic school. It doesn’t mean that there haven’t been pockets of success at times, but how depressing must it be to know that you are in a conference that didn’t want you, just the potential TV markets you bring. How bad is it at Rutgers from an athletic standpoint? I spent time on campus earlier this year and asked 25 students what conference Rutgers would now be competing in. Eight knew it was the B1G. Yes, EIGHT!

Flood has hemorrhaged coordinators and that causes instability among the players. There will not be a fourth year if the team struggles to be respectable this year and the level of competition takes a stratospheric rise this season.

Prediction: 3-9 (0-8)

At Washington: Loss

Howard: Win

Penn State: Loss

At Navy: Win

Tulane: Win

Michigan: Loss

At Ohio State: Loss

At Nebraska: Loss

Wisconsin: Loss

Indiana: Loss

At Michigan State: Loss

At Maryland: Loss

Final thoughts: There is strong sentiment in Jersey among some of the powerful that Coach Flood could be let go at the end of this year and a strong push made for MSU DC Pat Narduzzi. That sentiment alone should make Spartan fans hope that they Knights find a way to get bowl eligible.
