Are you ready?  It’s time for the Spartan Nation Michigan high school hoops report!  There was some great action this past week.  Some teams kept playing strong, some teams stumbled, and some, well, had a week to forget.

Cottrell’s BLOWOUT of the Week

Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy 74 Dearborn Heights Star International 12 (62 points)

It wasn’t pretty.  It was a blowout.  Claude Finley had 15 points.  Damon Muex scored 11.

Low Score of the Week

Granger Christian 34 Watervliet Grace Christian 18 (52 points)

Granger Christian came into the State of Michigan and won this low scoring affair.  Bobby Dunbar was the leading scorer with seven points.  He also grabbed 15 rebounds, tossed one assist, and stole one ball.  Will Abbot and Jordan Tancos each scored six points.  No stats could be found for Watervliet Grace Christian.

High Score of the Week

Boyne City 85 Traverse City St. Francis 80 (165 points)

Traverse City St. Francis has not been an easy game for Boyne City.  They had lost the previous 11 games, including the district final last year.  Corey Redman finished with 19 points and eight rebounds in the winning effort.  Maceo Vroman had 16 points and six assists.

Future Spartan Watch

Javon Bess – Bess scored 18 points in a loss to Westerville Central last week.  Seven of those points came in the fourth quarter.
