Here we go!  Basketball season has been going on for a few weeks now.  Everyone is starting to get into the groove of it now.  There will be a little break though as Christmas is nearly here.  I bring to you, without further ado, the High School Basketball Report!

Century Club Part One

Ferndale University 103 Detroit Cesar Chavez Academy 58

Jason Penn led Ferndale University with 32 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Anthony Martin chipped in 20 points, six rebounds, and two assists.  No stats for Cesar Chavez Academy could be found.

Low Score of the Week

Armada 25 Otisville LakeVille Memorial 12 (37 points)

Travor Holston had 13 points for Armada to lead all scorers.  Sam White and Zach Leavitt each had for points for Otisville.  Otisville had 23 turnovers for the game and Armada had tons of them as well.

High Score of the Week

Holly 99 Swartz Creek 88 (187 points)

It was a scoring festival last week.  Leading Holly was Kyle Woodruff with 29 points.  Joshua Simms scored 24 coming off the bench.  Jake Davis chipped in 21.  For Swartz Creek, Marquavian Stevens had 24 points and seven rebounds.  Torandis Mack and Kelvin Weston each scored 13 while Brett Pero and Fred Toins each scored 12.

Coach Cottrell’s BLOWOUT of the Week/Century Club Part Two

Saginaw Arthur Hill 100 Bay City Central 14 (86 points)

Wow.  Not only is it the BLOWOUT of the week, it’s also Century Club game!  Leading Bay City Central in scoring was Steve Bergey and Cedric McGee with a three pointer a piece.  Eric Davis paced Arthur Hill with 23 points, four steals, five assists, and eight rebounds.  Brian Bowen scored eight, grabbed 10 boards, blocked two shots, and stole five balls.

His twice weekly column previewing that weeks biggest games and recapping those from the past week is both well read and respected. His contribution to the site has been amazing and he truly does a remarkable job!
